GSPP stands for Good Seed and Plant Practices. It is an international quality system aimed at preventing the spread of Bacterial Canker in tomatoes.

For a seed to meet GSPP standard, the entire distribution chain must take safety measures when handling the seeds in question. In practice, this means, among other things, that the seeds are tested for contamination during breeding, are kept separate from other seeds during storage, and that personnel who, for example, package seeds maintain good hand hygiene.
