Long Red Tropea

Elongated red onion with a mild and sweet taste. Most often eaten fresh in salads and small dishes, excellent for onion marmalade. The variety originates from Calabria in southern Italy and can therefore bolt due to our long bright summer nights. This can be counteracted by pre-cultivating indoors and planting out as early as possible. Harvest and sell as fresh onions in bunches.
