Fine, white, traditional turnip that is juicy and sweet in taste. An early, round variety that is harvested at a size of 7-10 cm for best texture and flavour. Turnips have a mild and delicate cabbage flavour, somewhat reminiscent of rutabaga. It is easy to grow and grows quickly; it should be harvested small. The turnip is sensitive to high summer temperatures and drought.
The quality is best when grown in the spring or, even better, in late summer, when there is less risk of attack by the cabbage root fly. Cover the crop with insect netting to prevent attacks from, for example, cabbage root fly and cabbage moth.
