A truly substantial beefsteak tomato with a nice sheen and a somewhat flatter shape; it should be pruned to three fruits.

Its shape makes it easier to slice, which is often how beefsteak tomatoes are used. Kivu consistently produces fruits throughout the year, and a significant advantage is that the fruits are less prone to falling off the plant compared to other beefsteak tomato varieties. It yields healthy plants and is tolerant to powdery mildew.
